Hostel trips are relatively informal affairs, with weekend walks on Saturday and Sunday and overnight accommodation on Friday and Saturday. Trips a long way from Cambridge are often for 3 nights or more. 'A' walks are guaranteed, with around 6 hours walking; 'B' walks depend on a volunteer leader - please do offer! Travel is normally in cars and we try to arrange car sharing. All bookings are handled by Jill Tuffnell, with cheques payable to 'E G Tuffnell'. Please book well in advance as the full balance must be paid at least 8 weeks before the trip. If you can offer to drive or want a lift - please let Jill know. And you are very welcome to book your own B&B or hotel and join us on walks.

News and Notices

Wednesday 'B' News from John. It was nice to see Ann Merry after a long enforced absence and we send our sympathies for her loss. Best wishes to Rod Barton who recently underwent a back operation - also to Margaret Rishbeth and Yvonne Graves who are recovering from their operations. Our best wishes also to Barbara MacNally who has had a number of problems and Anne Spence who has been unable to walk with us recently. Sadly I have to report the deaths of Joyce Day (a one time 'B' walker), Peter Merry and Mary Teversham - who walked with the 'B's and more recently the 'C's.

Wednesday 'C' News from Sheila. A VERY sad time for the "C" group this year, as we have lost five members in quick succession i.e. Vera Hulme, Leslie Wronka,  Mary Teversham, Derwent Ellis and Arthur Hulme. They are greatly missed. At the funerals however, we were able to meet up with previous members who no longer walk which was very nice. Again a big thank you to members who have rallied round by doing TWO walks on the new programme. WITHOUT that help "C" group would fold and I know that NO-ONE wants that to happen! We do so love our socializing!

WANTED: Your Club Needs YOU! Vacancy for Autumn coach weekend organiser. As I write this newsletter we have no coach weekend planned for 2011 - because we have no volunteer(s) to take on the organisation. The burden doesn't have to fall on one individual - if 2 or 3 would like to split the job then please come forward and let Jill Tuffnell know. Unless Club members do the organising there will be no trip.

Archivist. Thanks to Christine who has offered to take over the Club's archives.

Subscriptions. If you have not completed a standing order form please do so this year as it saves us a lot of effort! Forms can be downloaded from the website or obtained from Simon.
